ITSR Labs is a bioinformatic software company focused on building innovative technology for scientific research. We design tools that support the conversion of raw data to analytic outputs.

The story

A practical solution to a real-life problem.

ITSR Labs was created to solve a problem we were facing: experienced biologists needed to explore and analyze transcriptomic data, but often lacked the technical expertise or hardware to do it themselves. What they needed wasn't more training - it was a tool powerful enough to handle the complexity of the data, without requiring them to become programmers or systems administrators to use it.

The first version of the platform was developed by a small group of researchers at the University of Calgary, and the impact was immediate. As word spread and requests for access grew, the architecture evolved with them - shifting deliberately from a useful script into a dependable, multi-tenant platform, one capable of giving researchers the same scalable analytical power once reserved for specialists.

That is the platform we are commercializing today, and the foundation for everything we plan to build next.

ITSR Labs was founded by Sam Storey and Cole Philipp, who wanted to develop a better way for researchers to use modern analytic methods.

Dual science and finance background. Architect of the ITSR Labs Platform. Responsible for the ITSR Labs commercial strategy — partnerships, pricing, and platform operations.
